Like Jahseh Onfroy transforming himself into XXXTENTACION, the alias isn’t simply another name.

It’s a statement.

A separation between the person you were and the person you decided to become.

Joshua was the past.

Ellavenz is the evolution.

And the most important part?

Joshua didn’t have to die for Ellavenz to exist.

Joshua had to survive long enough to create him.
