Left Behind (Script) Official Screenplay Coming 2026-2027!

Scene: Left Behind

(Lights dim. Chaos ambience fades out. JOSHUA enters in all black—Doomsday gear, bow slung. He scans the theater and audience cautiously, alert. After a moment, he circles back toward center stage.)

(He notices a GIRL on her knees, shaking. Clothes are scattered beside her. She’s crying.)

JOSHUA

(softly, cautious)

Hey… are you okay?

GIRL

(startled, defensive)

Who are you? Go away. Please—just leave me alone.

JOSHUA

It’s okay. I’m not here to hurt you. I promise.

(Pause. She looks up at him.)

GIRL

My parents… Jesus took them.

(choking up)

He took my mom… my dad… and now I’m all alone. I don’t know what to do.

JOSHUA

(kneels slightly, understanding)

Yeah… I know.

My parents—my whole family—were taken too.

I was left behind.

(Beat.)

GIRL

Why would He do that?

JOSHUA

I asked myself the same thing.

The world fell apart overnight… people turned cruel… dangerous.

And I kept asking—

Why not me?

(He looks upward briefly.)

But I believe there’s a reason.

A purpose.

And if He left me here… then I’m going to live that purpose.

GIRL

(quiet)

How can you still believe after all this?

JOSHUA

Because I love Him.

And before all this… one verse always stayed with me.

Isaiah 6:8.

Do you want to hear it?

GIRL

(sniffles, nods)

Yeah… okay. What is it?

JOSHUA

“Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying,

‘Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?’

And I said,

‘Here am I. Send me.’”

(Silence. The GIRL breathes shakily.)

GIRL

…Wow.

Maybe that’s why.

(starts crying again)

I’m sorry, I just miss them so much.

JOSHUA

I know.

And I won’t lie—this isn’t easy.

But if He carried the cross…

then I can carry this.

GIRL

You really know a lot about Him.

JOSHUA

I’m just trying my best.

And somehow… He keeps giving me a reason to keep moving forward.

Maybe my time will come later.

Until then—

I have faith.

(He looks at her gently.)

Maybe there’s a reason we met tonight.

Maybe we’re being drawn closer to Him.

GIRL

(small smile through tears)

You’re really optimistic.

JOSHUA

I don’t try to be.

That’s just how faith works for me.

(Beat.)

You know John 3:16, right?

GIRL

Yeah… I do.

Both GIRL & JOSHUA

“For God so loved the world

that He gave His one and only Son,

that whoever believes in Him

shall not perish,

but have eternal life.”

GIRL

Then… why was I left behind?

JOSHUA

I don’t have all the answers.

But I know this—

God still uses people.

Even now.

Especially now.

(Suddenly, a FIGURE IN WHITE gently brushes the GIRL’s arm.)

GIRL

(startled)

Did… did you feel that?

JOSHUA

Feel what?

(The touch happens again. She gasps softly.)

GIRL

There—it happened again.

Something’s happening.

JOSHUA

(steady, reassuring)

Then believe.

Not in me.

Not in fear.

Believe in the Almighty—

Jesus Christ!

THUNDER.

(A sudden stillness.)

(7–9 FIGURES IN WHITE appear, moving swiftly and silently. They circle the GIRL. Light intensifies. The air feels heavy, holy.)

GIRL

(voice trembling, overwhelmed)

Wait—

It’s happening—

Wait! I didn’t even get your name!

JOSHUA

(emotional, calling out)

Joshua!

My name is Joshua! Whats your name!?
Whats yours!?

(Before she can hear him, the GIRL is lifted upward—raptured. The FIGURES vanish with her.)

(Her clothes fall gently to the ground, landing beside her parents’ clothing.)

(Silence.)

(JOSHUA stands frozen. Breathing heavy. In disbelief.)

(He scans the theater—left, right—instinctively checking for danger, for witnesses. Nothing.)

(He slowly kneels. Picks up the GIRL’s clothing.)

(His hands tremble.)

(He lets the clothing fall.)

(He bows his head.)

JOSHUA (Prayer)

(quiet, broken, sincere)

Lord…

You are faithful.

Even when I don’t understand.

You took her home.

Thank You for showing me

that You’re still here…

still calling…

still saving.

Give me strength to keep going.

Give me courage to stand.

And if You’ve left me here—

then use me.

Here I am.

Send me.

(He rises slowly, wipes his face, grips his bow.)

(One last look at the empty space where she stood.)

(He turns—)

and runs off stage.

BLACKOUT.
